This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior real estate investment banker to take charge of a well capitalised business that is ideally placed to take advantage of the significant opportunities that exist in the real estate sector as the market continues to improve.
Our client is a GCC-based investment bank with extremely robust financial backing, a good reputation and ambitious plans. With a real estate portfolio and team already in place there is a platform upon which to build. However, there is no obvious Head to drive the business as the market starts to open up hence this requirement. Because the business will be both investing and advising the new Head will be a real estate investment banker with experience in both principal investment and advisory. They will combine GCC knowledge, contacts and experience with a top-tier investment banking track record and be enthusiastic about living and working in the GCC-region and the wider Islamic world.
The ideal candidate will therefore possess:
•10 - 15 years experience in real estate investment banking gained within top tier institutions.
•Outstanding contacts within the GCC and wider MENA region.
•A track record gained in both bull and bear markets.
•An understanding of Islamic Finance and Sharia’a compliant structures.
•Strong debt restructuring and portfolio optimisation skills.
•The leadership, management and mentoring skills necessary to adopt an existing team and expand it.
•Fluent Arabic would be extremely useful but is not essential.
