Assistant Facilities Manager

Cobalt is seeking an ambitious Assistant Facilities Manager to work for a well-regarded managing agent in the Birmingham area. The opportunity has arisen due to our client winning new instructions and general growth in the business, and as such they are now in the posiition to hire a brand new Assistant FM to support the Senior FM's in managing a mixed-portfolio of commercial, retail and industrial assets in the city. This role will offer you support, development, and the opportunity to act autonomously by taking real ownership of aspects of total facilities management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the management of service charge budgets for the portfolio;

  • Guaranteeing continuous compliance of health and safety, legislature, procedures, and records for the sites included in the portfolio;

  • Undertaking periodic site inspections, alongside your line manager and independently;

  • Assisting with the management of service providers, including taking responsibility for entire service lines in time;

  • Ensuring, alongside the facilities manager, that all the building maintenance and engineering work is completed to high standard;

  • Providing an excellent level of customer service is delivered to occupiers.

Key requirements include:

  • IOSH qualified as a minimum, with strong practical experience to support this;

  • Experience in the management of service providers;

  • Ability to maintain, develop and improved relationships with key, crucial stakeholders both inside and outside the business;

  • Ability to use FM software/ general property management programmes;
