Cobalt Recruitment are excited to be exclusively retained by a leading technology and international food retailer & delivery provider that spans 14 countries over 3 continents. Our client has engaged us to source a Mechanical & Electrical focused Design Manager to support the team in their ambitious plans for growth across their portfolio of Distribution and Logistic centres.

Since their inception in 2011, this innovative business has grown to a £4bn turnover across 14 countries and have predicted a further 40% expansion across their existing portfolio and new revenue streams. With plans to complete 5-10 new and existing fulfilment centres annually this business requires additional resource in their development and construction team by hiring a dynamic, knowledgeable, and ambitious design individual.

The role

As International M&E Design Manager you'll be part of a small and dynamic facilities expansion team, planning the layout of 5-10 fulfilment centres annually. You will be working with colleagues in Property Acquisition, Production Planning, Food Safety and local Operations, you'll create premises layouts for efficiency of product and people movements in a labour-intensive and technically challenging environment.

A hands-on role that requires an inquisitive mindset, learning about Refrigeration, Mechanical, and Electrical prevailing practices and seeking improvements in layouts for efficiency, sustainability, and economy.

There will be opportunities to travel and meet the implementation teams in many geographies including UK, US, Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and Sweden

Requirements

·You have 5-10 years of experience in an architectural or MEP design environment, ideally with some knowledge of Building Services Engineering.

·Proven experience delivering Warehouse, Logistic or fulfilment centres.

·M&E knowledge ideally within refrigeration and automation.

·Spatial planning, efficiency's, and industrial layout experience ideal.

·You are driven to build simple, sustainable and economic construction solutions

·You have used tools such as REVIT, BIM, AutoCAD design packages, Adobe, Word, Excel etc

·You are able to write technical requirements, develop business models, define support requirements and processes, and have worked with various stakeholders throughout the design stages of schemes, challenging concepts and have an eye for exceptional delivery.
