Statutory Accountant - 12 Month FTC

Accountabilities

  • Production of statutory accounts for subsidiary and joint venture companies. This will include internal liaison (tax department, company secretariat, rent accounts, service charges) and external liaison (auditors)

  • Assisting in the preparation of the interim and final 'glossy' accounts for the Group, taking a lead role in producing the notes for which the team are responsible

  • Assisting in the completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations

  • To be familiar with and keep abreast of latest accounting requirements / standards and company law and apply as necessary to the Group's financial reporting

  • Assisting in other financial accounting work as required in conjunction with other Finance departments such as quarterly management accounts for certain entities as and when required

  • Contributing towards the department's housekeeping, filing, record maintenance and internal control procedures

  • Undertaking ad-hoc accounting projects and special reviews as required

  • Assisting in the preparation of the monthly intercompany interest / management charge

  • In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the job holder may be required by management from time to time to undertake any other tasks or duties considered to be relevant to the general function of the Financial Accounts Department and the business

  • The prime reporting responsibility will be to the Head of Statutory reporting but on certain issues it will be to the Head of Group Reporting or the Group Financial Controller

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Essential

  • Accountancy Qualification

  • Good understanding of IFRS

  • Good Excel and Word skills

  • Experience of producing statutory accounts [note that from an audit background this would not be expected/required]

  • Real Estate and Property Experience desired
