Interim Senior Estates Manager

Cobalt Recruitment are working with a NHS Trust in Yorkshire to recruit an interim Senior Estates Manager for an initial 6-9 month contract, paying £275.00 - £300.00 per day LTD rate (inside IR35, via Umbrella Company) depending on experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an evolving team that is shaping the future Estates provision to deliver excellent patient care. You will have a proven track record in all areas of Estates management with the ability to maintain the trust's excellent and compliant Estate, driving for continuous improvement and innovation.

You will be required to have excellent customer-facing communication, combined with the necessary technical skills and knowledge to carry out the role and be comfortable managing a varied and busy workload.

You will have/be:

  • 5+ years experience as a Senior Estates Manager / Head of Estates within a healthcare setting.

  • Qualified to Degree / HNC level to a Building Services Engineering related discipline (Mechanical or Electrical).

  • Ability to manage the Estate to be fully compliant and, maintenance services in accordance with Statutory Obligations, Codes of Practice and Department of Health Guidelines (HTMs).

  • Ability to deputise for the Head of Estates in their absence.

  • Able to monitor performance and compliance against engineering statutory obligations including all mandatory testing of equipment and plant for which Estates have responsibility. This will be achieved by using the information on service provision from in-house labour and asset management systems, contractor's performance records and outside specialist advice to validate the information.

  • Ability to maintain the Estates risk register, develop, implement mitigations and contingency plans.

  • Regular specialist compliance audits of procedures and performance will be undertaken. Consisting of inspections and reports.

  • To act as Estates Technical Adviser to the Trust, on all estates related issues.

  • Appraise all Trust staff within your remit annually, identify staff/service development needs and produce individual staff personal development plans.

  • Investigate and respond to complains both formal and informal in accordance with the Trust's complaints procedure.
