About the role

As a Preconstruction Manager, you will be responsible for

  • Leading and managing the preconstruction phase of workplace fit-out projects, typically ranging from c. £1M - £5M in value.

  • Collaborating with and assisting the estimating team to review requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.

  • Conducting thorough site assessments and evaluations to identify potential challenges and opportunities.

  • Working closely with the design team to ensure alignment between design intent and project feasibility.

  • Engaging with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Providing expertise and guidance on value engineering, constructability, and alternative solutions.

  • Preparing and presenting comprehensive preconstruction reports to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborating with project managers to transition smoothly from preconstruction to the construction phase.

About you

You will need to have the following to be successful in your application,

  • Proven experience as a Preconstruction Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry (i.e Head of Estimating/ Senior Estimator/ Commercial Manager etc).

  • Experience within commercial fit-out & refurbishment (D&B contractor) - 5 years+ ideally.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

  • Detail-oriented mindset with organisational skills.

  • A strong knowledge of processes, construction methodologies and industry best practices.

  • BA Hons or equivalent in a relevant field (preferred).
