Senior Civil Engineer

Position: Senior Civil Engineer
Location: London
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Cobalt is excited to be recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer to be based in London working for a leading award-winning, employee-owned consulting engineering practice working internationally. Their engineering services incorporate designs for infrastructure, building structures, civil engineering, facades, and construction support. This is a permanent full-time role offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the technical delivery of civil engineering services
* Design delivery. Prepare calculations, drawings and other documents
* Deliver multiple projects within budget and to program


Additional Responsibilities
* Support PM activities - Contribute to fee budgets, proposals and resource requirements for projects
* Contribute and lead growth of civil team


Key Requirements
* Technically excellent engineer, with established skills and delivery capability
* Ability to make decisions, act on your own initiative and operate in a pro-active way
* Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure


Qualification
* MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering or similar
* Chartered Engineer/Near Chartered is a plus


Key Technical Experience (mandatory ability to work independently)
* Work independently and be fully responsible for the development of concept and detailed design for all/part of the following elements of design related with haul road, access roads, car parks (i.e. residential, industrial, infrastructure schemes):
o road geometry,
o roadside features,
o drainage including SUDs, and attenuation measures
o pavement design,
o vehicle restraint systems,
o utilities design and co-ordination
* Lead the co-ordination, liaison and consultation process with statutory authorities or undertakers as necessary during the different phases of the project. This could include necessary consents for utilities protection and/or diversion.
* Familiar with planning consents and approval processes requirements with relevant Local Authorities, Highway England, other Gov Agencies
* Give technical advice to our clients and potential clients in terms of min cost solutions, programme etc.. Able to identify independently project risks
* In depth understanding of Highway/ Engineering Design and design standard, and related legislation
