Cobalt Recruitment are working exclusively with a Public Sector Organisation in East Sussex to recruit a Senior Estates Surveyor & Project Manager on a 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract, paying £45,000-£55,000 per annum depending on experience.

The Estates Strategy will transform the built estate through a programme of planned improvements across the estate funded by a Capital Budget of circa £14m.

The successful candidate will support the Estates Team in all aspects of Estates Management, from day-to-day repairs and maintenance through to project development and delivery. In particular the role will focus on feasibility studies, project management including risk and stakeholder management & strategic asset management and assurance.

You will be working with the organisation's Estates Development Strategy Manager & Major Projects Manager to ensure the delivery of the Estates Strategy and will be responsible leading on CAD design and document management.

You will have/be:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in (Surveying/Property).

  • Professional qualification - e.g. RICS, CIOB.

  • Significant experience of delivering property projects of varying values.

  • Experience working in a building surveying or project management environment; delivering high value, high impact construction projects to time, cost and quality standards.

  • Working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, specification writing and contract administration.

  • Knowledge of RICS best practice in respect of project delivery and Estates Management.

  • Knowledge of RIBA best practice in respect of project delivery and Estates Management.

  • Ability to use CAD and CAFM systems using technology to deliver plans, specifications and reports.

  • Experience of and ability to make statutory applications including Building Regulations and Planning Approvals.

  • Ability to converse at ease with stakeholders and provide technical and/or professional advice in accurate spoken English.
