It was our 20th birthday on 1st October! So whilst we popped some real-life Champagne corks, we took a moment to celebrate all the great things about Cobalt. It was a chance to reflect on what has made us the successful recruitment firm we are today.
Very honestly, the biggest secret to our success is our people: they have always been at the heart of what we do. We’re proud of who we are and what we stand for. We took a quick look at the cornerstones of Life at Cobalt and how we look after our greatest asset: our people, our Cobaltians!
We’re deeply proud of the culture of caring we have developed. It fosters a genuine passion and commitment from our people and means we all take responsibility for delivering results and making a positive difference to the world around us.
Not to mention, we really do invest in and look after our staff. One of the ways we do that is with a comprehensive perks and benefits programme which focuses on work/life balance and recognises our Cobaltians for their valuable contributions. Some of the benefits we offer include unlimited annual leave, dogs in the office, downtime days, birthday off, mindfulness workshops, a relaxed dress code and a work from home policy. We also have a dedicated Wellbeing Team who organise activities to support our Cobaltian’s mental, emotional, physical and social health.

Working from home is a reality of life
We don’t just pay lip service to working from home. We truly mean it, and our Working from Home Policy reflects that - something our people really value. Cobaltians can choose to be in either our Manchester or London office at least two days a week, one dedicated day with their team and another to suit their schedule. The other days are up to them: office, home or holiday rental.
We also have a flexible remote working option for colleagues who are permanent home workers. Our remote employees are based all over the UK, from the Orkneys to Brighton!
Our backbone is our strength
Recruitment is a team game – and to us all team members are valued equally. That’s why we use the term ‘backbone’ for all those in supporting roles at Cobalt. Whether it be operations and front of house, marcoms, HR, finance, compliance or IT, they are the backbone and supporting foundation of everything we do. No recruiter can be effective without the right people in these functions.
