About the Role

Cobalt are partnered with a top national planning consultancy team in the West Midlands, who are looking for a senior hire to join their team - ideally at Associate or Associate Director-level. They are working on some of the Midland's most impressive upcoming schemes and their portfolio of projects boasts a diverse range that contribute to the region's growth and transformation.

Your role will be to join and assist in running the lean and successful team in managing projects, doing business development, mentoring and advising the junior team, and pushing forward the community-centric agenda of this team and national planning business.

This is a brilliant opportunity for the right person, and with their pipeline ever increasing, the role will give exposure to more major clients and be an excellent challenge. You will be part of a growing, dynamic and highly experienced team, with excellent prospects for career advancement, and working with a flexible, hybrid working approach.

Your role will involve:

  • Providing strategic planning advice and preparing/submitting major planning applications.
  • Business development and profile raising, as well as manage/deepen existing key relationships.
  • Leading client and design team meetings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Project management and budgetary controls on projects.
  • Supporting more junior members of staff.

Ideally you will:

  • Have over 6 years in town planning in the UK and have managed some major schemes.
  • Have excellent communication and written skills.
  • Have some track record in business development.
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and be a team player.

This is an unrivalled opportunity to work within a team who are really working on some of the city and region's best projects, and to make a real mark in your career.

Please apply here or give me (Sheirani) a call on 0207 478 2478 to discuss. My client is looking to find the right candidate as soon as possible - so if in doubt, do get in touch. I also have other clients and roles that may be of interest.

If you do not hear anything back within one week, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, but I will retain your details for future roles.

When applying to any role through Cobalt, your CV will never be shared with a client without your prior consent. Apply in confidence below or get in touch with me for a confidential discussion about the position.
