Cobalt is working with a multi-disciplinary consultancy to appoint an Associate Director / Director within its Economics team. This position offers the opportunity to lead on high-profile projects that shape places, investment decisions and long-term regeneration strategies across the UK. The business works with a broad client base spanning the public and private sectors and is recognised for delivering commercially focused advice on major schemes and complex projects.
This is an opportunity for an experienced economics professional to join a collaborative team delivering work across development, regeneration and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in client engagement, project leadership and business growth.
Key responsibilities:
As Associate Director / Director, you will take responsibility for leading and delivering economics and strategic planning projects while supporting wider business development activity.
Responsibilities will include:
* Leading economic impact assessments, socio-economic analysis and strategic planning commissions.
* Managing client relationships across public and private sector organisations.
* Supporting business development activity and identifying opportunities for growth.
* Providing strategic advice relating to regeneration, development and infrastructure projects.
* Managing and mentoring junior team members.
* Contributing to bids, proposals and wider team strategy.
* Working closely with internal planning and development teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
Skills and experience required:
* Must understand the UK planning system.
* Experience delivering economic impact assessments and related analytical projects.
* Strong report writing and communication skills.
* Experience managing client relationships and project delivery.
* Working knowledge of UK planning and development processes.
* Commercial awareness and an interest in supporting business growth.
* Degree-level qualifications in economics, planning, geography or a related discipline.
