About the Role
A well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a senior planning professional to lead and grow its regional planning team. This is a strategic leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the direction of a successful office, drive business growth, and deliver a diverse portfolio of projects across both private and public sectors.
You'll work within a collaborative environment alongside specialists in design, infrastructure, environmental services and wider development disciplines, contributing to integrated project delivery across the UK.
The Role
As a senior leader within the business, you will combine project delivery, team leadership and business development, taking ownership of both operational performance and strategic growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a regional planning team, providing direction, mentoring and support.
- Delivering complex planning projects including applications, appeals, site promotions and development plan work.
- Representing clients at hearings, examinations and public inquiries.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and generating new business opportunities.
- Developing and expanding the regional client base and market presence.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams across a range of development projects.
- Managing office performance, including financial oversight and resource planning.
- Contributing to wider company strategy and growth initiatives.
- Supporting staff development, training and knowledge sharing.
About You
- MRTPI qualified with significant post-qualification experience (typically 10+ years).
- Strong background in planning consultancy, development or related sectors.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Demonstrable track record in business development and client relationship management.
- Strong understanding of both development management and planning policy.
- Commercially aware with experience managing projects, budgets and performance.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Full UK driving licence.
