About the Role

Building Manager - New Landmark Development (Leading Managing Agent)
Location: North London
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000

A leading Managing Agent is seeking a forward-thinking Building Manager to take the helm of a brand-new, high-profile development due to reach post-completion in early 2026. This impressive scheme spans over 200,000 sq. ft. and comprises a blend of premium commercial office space and ground-floor retail units, creating a vibrant, modern destination in one of London's most desirable locations.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a role from the very beginning of the building's lifecycle-shaping operational standards, embedding customer service excellence, and setting the tone for a best-in-class occupier experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the operational mobilisation of the building in the run-up to completion, working closely with the client, contractors, and service partners.

  • Oversee day-to-day building management once operational, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-quality environment.

  • Manage both soft and hard FM services, ensuring contracts deliver value and performance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with occupiers and retailers, acting as their main point of contact for all building-related matters.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits, maintaining high standards of presentation and safety across the asset.

  • Support ESG initiatives, sustainability goals, and the integration of smart building technologies.

  • Prepare and monitor service charge budgets in partnership with the Property Manager.

  • Lead on emergency planning, incident management, and regulatory compliance.

About You

  • Experienced in managing commercial office buildings-mixed-use exposure is advantageous.

  • Skilled in contractor oversight, service charge budgets, and health & safety compliance.

  • Confident in engaging with occupiers, retailers, and stakeholders at all levels.

  • Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and building a sense of community.

  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable taking ownership of a flagship asset from its earliest stage.
