About the Role

An exciting opportunity to move into a non-fieldwork, office-based role within a growing ecology consultancy. This position is ideal for a senior-level ecologist ready to focus on project delivery, client communication, and mentoring junior staff-without the muddy boots.

As Project Manager, you'll manage a wide range of ecological projects while guiding early-career ecologists as they develop technical skills. You'll serve as the key client liaison, oversee project progress, and ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.

 

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate ecological projects from briefing to delivery
  • Support and mentor junior ecologists in planning and reporting
  • Act as main point of contact for clients and collaborators
  • Schedule survey resources with internal teams
  • Prepare and review fee proposals and project documentation
  • Shape and grow this newly created role within the team

What You'll Bring

  • A solid background in ecological consultancy or conservation
  • Experience in habitat and protected species surveys
  • Strong understanding of survey methods, mitigation, and best practice
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence in client liaison, project quoting, and team support
  • Passion for ecology with a desire to help others grow
  • Full CIEEM membership desirable
