The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Engineering Manager to join one of the UK's leading and most reputable property management organisations.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the technical and engineering operations across a prestigious commercial property portfolio, whilst being based at a landmark 300,000 sq ft office building in London's West End.
Working within a highly regarded property management team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of engineering excellence, statutory compliance and operational performance across a portfolio of high-profile commercial assets.
This position would suit an experienced Engineering Manager or technically strong Building Services professional looking to take on a varied and influential role within a business known for managing some of London's most prominent commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee engineering operations across a portfolio of commercial properties, ensuring consistently high standards of technical service delivery.
Take responsibility for the engineering performance of a flagship 300,000 sq ft office building, alongside wider portfolio responsibilities.
Ensure full compliance with statutory legislation, Health & Safety regulations and industry best practice.
Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance programmes across mechanical, electrical and building services systems.
Manage and monitor specialist engineering contractors, ensuring performance against contractual obligations, KPIs and SLAs.
Provide technical guidance and support to Building Managers, Property Managers and wider operational teams.
Support the delivery of engineering projects, plant replacements, lifecycle works and capital expenditure programmes.
Assist with the preparation and management of engineering budgets, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and value for money.
Conduct technical audits, building inspections and reviews of engineering performance.
Develop strong working relationships with clients, occupiers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Identify opportunities to improve building performance, energy efficiency and sustainability across the portfolio.
About You
We are looking for a technically accomplished and commercially aware Engineering Manager who is comfortable operating within a high-profile, multi-stakeholder commercial property environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A strong background in mechanical and electrical building services engineering, ideally within commercial offices.
Previous experience in an Engineering Manager, Technical Services Manager or senior engineering position.
Experience overseeing engineering operations across complex commercial buildings or multiple assets.
Excellent knowledge of statutory compliance, building services maintenance and Health & Safety requirements.
Strong contractor management experience, with the ability to challenge performance and maintain high service standards.
Experience supporting engineering projects, lifecycle planning and capital works.
The confidence to engage with senior stakeholders, clients and property management teams.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational and communication skills.
Relevant technical qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent building services discipline, would be highly advantageous.
