About the Role

Cobalt is working with a well-established, independent consultancy to recruit a Junior Building Surveyor to join their close-knit team in Central London. The organisation

  • A respected multi-disciplinary consultancy offering Building Surveying, Project Management, Architectural Services and specialist advisory work to a diverse mix of commercial, residential and educational clients.
  • Central London offices with excellent transport links.
  • APC support provided by a registered counsellor, with structured training and full professional subscriptions paid.

  • Office-based position with working hours of 9:00am-5:30pm.

 

The role

  • Working closely with the directors and senior surveyors across a varied portfolio throughout London and the Home Counties.
  • Preparing Schedules of Dilapidations and Schedules of Condition.
  • Producing specifications and technical reports.
  • Carrying out measured surveys for Fire Insurance Reinstatement Valuations.
  • Assisting with Party Wall matters and preparing Party Wall Awards.
  • Supporting the preparation of Planning and Building Control applications.
  • Using AutoCAD to produce drawings where required.

 

Skills & experience required

  • A BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying is essential.
  • Working knowledge gained from a Graduate Building Surveying role, or recently qualified MRICS status.
  • Experience with dilapidations, condition surveys, specification writing, measured surveys and party wall procedures.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and statutory applications is advantageous.
  • A desire to progress your Building Surveying career and, if not already qualified, complete your APC.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail and willingness to learn.
