Working alongside the on-site management team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Completing general repairs involving plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, basic electrical maintenance within your competency and other building maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnosing faults and delivering practical solutions to maintenance issues.
  • Supporting apartment inspections, move-ins, move-outs, minor refurbishments and turnaround works.
  • Responding to resident maintenance requests, prioritising urgent repairs and providing progress updates.
  • Completing routine building inspections and supporting planned preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Assisting with fire safety checks, water hygiene procedures and building compliance activities, where appropriately trained and authorised.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, reporting defects and following relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Supporting the coordination of external contractors and monitoring maintenance supplies and materials.
  • Working with the management team to maintain communal facilities, support wider site operations and minimise disruption to residents.

The skills and requirements

To be considered for this Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative opportunity, you will need:

  • Previous experience in multi-skilled maintenance, building maintenance, facilities maintenance or residential property maintenance.
  • Practical working knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating and general building repairs.
  • A good understanding of planned preventative and reactive maintenance procedures.
  • The ability to diagnose faults, prioritise workloads and complete repairs independently.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety requirements within residential buildings.
  • Communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with residents and colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with an on-site team.
  • Confidence using digital systems to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice.

Additional experience or qualifications that would be beneficial include:
