About the Role

A well-established, multi-disciplinary property and development consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Planning Consultant / Development Lead to play a key role in expanding its planning and development presence within the region.

This is a strategic leadership position within a collaborative team of planners, architects, surveyors and technical specialists. The successful candidate will drive growth, strengthen the local market presence, and lead the delivery of high-quality planning and development services across a varied portfolio.

This opportunity would suit an ambitious senior planning professional with a strong commercial mindset and a track record in business development and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the regional lead for planning and development services
  • Deliver strategic planning advice, applications, negotiations and appeals
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams across the development lifecycle
  • Drive business growth through networking, client relationship management and cross-selling services
  • Mentor and develop team members
  • Contribute to financial performance and operational efficiency

About You

  • MRTPI qualified
  • Strong private sector planning consultancy background
  • Proven track record in business development and winning work
  • Commercially astute with leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of the full development process
  • Full UK driving licence
