Property Accountant

My client, a leading Central London office-focused property investor and developer with a portfolio of £4.9B worth of landmark buildings, is seeking a Service Charge Accountant to join their team.
You will manage a portfolio of properties within the Property Management department, providing support to Property Surveyors to ensure clear and accurate accounting to the tenants and finance department.
Responsibilities:
· Set up and maintain properties, units, and leases on the database; process daily adjustments.
· Ensure timely charge raising for rents, service charges, licence fees, void funding, and insurance recharges.
· Monitor property funding, highlighting shortfalls or overspends to Property Surveyors and Finance.
· Input and update service charge budgets, apportionments, and void funding
· Review and reconcile quarterly and annual service charges, posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
· Arrange external audits and recover surpluses or shortfalls from tenants promptly
· Reconcile property funds and review income vs. budget to ensure correct recovery
· Reconcile service charge bank accounts and support quarterly reporting to Finance, including client statements, sub-ledger balances, and VAT.
· Provide ad hoc reporting and cover for Accounts Payable or Cashier functions as required.
Requirements
· At least three to five years' service charge experience ideally within commercial property, residential property experience will also be considered
· Experience using TRAMPS/Bluebox is desirable
· Excellent knowledge of client accounts (commercial property) and come from a similar position
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Previous experience of service charge accounting / maintenance and audits
· Advanced Excel skills preferred, intermediate level will also be considered
