About the Role

 

Cobalt is working with a leading global property investment and development firm to find a skilled Senior Accounts Payable professional to join their dynamic finance team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a prestigious organization with a diverse and expansive portfolio of commercial, residential, and hospitality properties worldwide.

As a Senior Accounts Payable, you will be an integral part of the finance function, supporting the smooth running of the accounts payable process for the company's real estate portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process high-volume invoices and ensure proper approvals are in place before payment.

  • Liaise with property managers, contractors, and vendors to resolve any issues regarding payments.

  • Maintain supplier relationships to ensure timely reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies.

  • Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including the timely payment of suppliers and contractors.

  • Review and approve payment runs, ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable to the general ledger.

  • Assist with month-end close processes and report to senior management on AP-related matters.

  • Improve processes and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ad-hoc reporting and project work as required.

The Candidate:

    • Proven experience in Accounts Payable, ideally within a property or investment environment.

    • Strong understanding of property management and vendor relations.

    • Advanced Excel skills for reconciliations and reporting.

    • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Yardi, SAP, MRI).

    • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

    • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Desirable:

    • Experience in a senior accounts payable role, or with a supervisory element.

    • Exposure to international transactions or multi-currency payments.

    • Experience with property management accounting systems.
