About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially focused Senior Town Planner to join a well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy in Birmingham.

This role offers the chance to work on a broad range of high-profile projects across the residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration sectors, supporting major developments throughout the UK.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of planning projects from inception through to completion.
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals and strategic planning representations.
  • Providing clear and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
  • Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
  • Supporting junior team members and contributing to a collaborative working environment.
  • Attending client meetings, public consultations and planning committees where required.
  • Assisting with business development and maintaining strong client relationships.

Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

  • RTPI Chartered status (MRTPI).
  • Previous experience within a planning consultancy or private sector environment.
  • Strong background delivering residential, commercial, mixed-use and regeneration projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system and planning policy.
  • Strong report writing, communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial awareness and strong client-facing abilities.
