About the Role
Planning Professional (Part-Time)
A unique opportunity for an experienced and pragmatic planning professional to work directly with a private client, offering expert guidance on a range of complex planning and environmental matters. This role would suit someone with a background in local authority planning, statutory undertakers, or consultancy-bringing both policy insight and practical delivery skills. A chance to work in a scenic, rural setting while engaging with complex, impactful planning matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on planning and environmental legislation
- Support neighbourhood plan development and progression
- Review and provide a pragmatic perspective on local planning applications
- Conduct research and prepare reports for planning committees and local matters
- Monitor and interpret local plan developments and proposals
- Offer informed recommendations on environmental and sustainability considerations
- Maintain confidential correspondence and sensitive documentation
What You'll Need
- MRTPI preferred, or significant relevant experience
- Strong understanding of planning processes and legislation
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with the employer
- IT proficiency and confidence in producing professional reports and briefings
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Interest in environmental, ecological, and sustainability matters desirable
Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience
- Remote working but southeast based near Canterbury
