Job Title - Planning Manager - 4D Synchro

Location - London

Salary - up to £95k plus car / package / bonus

Client / Job Overview

Cobalt is working with global consultancy, that have an excellent opportunity for a 4D Planning Manager to join their already successful team based in London. The role will be working on a major project in an exciting sector within our clients group portfolio.


Projects:

Our client provides PMO services to a number of rail clients and projects including Network Rail and HS2), and they looking to employ a 4D Planning Manager based in London. The 4D Planner establishes and maintains the 4D model to prove both the Design and Programme represent the sequence of works on the Project, highlighting Physical and time clashes alongside opportunities.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibility

  • Link project schedule with the design model to create a visual sequence of works

  • Run 'what if' scenarios within 4D environment against baseline models to identify programme opportunities

  • Model phased logistics and temporary works for input into sequence

  • Run physical and time-based clash detection of design, logistics and temporary works against the programme to validate.

  • Create 1 week, 1 month and 3 month lookahead outputs for team briefings

  • Prepare the 4D model for the BIM team to input into VR for stakeholder engagement

  • Set up the 4D model to align with WBS and BIM standards to enable automation within the process

  • Add SHE data to the model to assist the H&S team in ensuring a safe project site.

  • Train and upskill the planning team in the use of Synchro and 4D techniques

Qualifications and Desired skills:

  • Experience of planning on large / complex £100m plus projects

  • Rail experience would be an advantage.

  • Expert knowledge of Synchro (or similar packages)

  • Very strong understanding of Construction Methodology and Logistics

  • Good understanding of Primavera and similar planning software

  • High level of CAD Modelling experience in AutoCAD or similar

  • Good knowledge of Sketch Up

  • Good understanding of Planning technique

  • Understanding of Technology integration and data process. ·

  • Understanding of 5D and 6D for addition to the created models
