Cobalt working with a historic landlord to recruit an Assistant Development Manager for a mix-use Estate in South Kensington & Chelsea - this is a dynamic portfolio which includes some of London's most infamous properties. This is an active role and their will be plenty of activity going on in this dynamic space, which includes a mixture of retail, commercial office, and residential buildings.

As well as this, you will be working in close association with the Estate Manager who is looking for someone who they can develop and grow in this role, giving you plenty of exposure to every aspect of the estate management position from a client-side perspective. This opportunity is a great step onto the ladder for future progression within the facilities industry.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work alongside Estate manager, taking regular inspections and site-walkthroughs within the estate;

  • Helping to ensure the building remains fully compliant with UK H&S legislation, whilst assisting with the continued drive towards improving sustainability within the estate;

  • Providing key support in ensuring the estate and buildings are maintained to the highest standard, getting involved with planned and reactive maintenance, in additions to CAPEX projects as they arise;

  • As part of the above, you will assist with managing contractors for hard services, in addition to soft service suppliers too - initially providing support but taking on autonomy for set services when practically possible;

  • The estate regularly hosts a variety of events and a key part of this role will be helping to ensure these run smoothly - managing risk and ensuring the estate is fit for the purpose of these events as they arise;

  • Building lasting professional relationships with key stakeholders, chief amongst them tenants - helping to provide a first-class facilities management service for them.

  • Due to this events happening on site, this role will require every other Saturday to be worked, with time given off in lieu during the week.

Our client is looking for someone proactive and professional, who can use their own initiative to challenge themselves and develop within the field of building and facilities management - this could be an established Assistant FM looking to refine their experience before taking the next step, or as someone stepping up into the role for the first time.

Prior experience working for a property company is essential, whilst previous experience on a mixed-use portfolio/estate, or large-scale asset would be highly desirable. An IOSH qualification would be highly desirable and for the top-end of the salary bracket it would be essential.
