Cobalt Recruitment are working exclusively with a Public Sector Organisation in East Sussex to recruit an Assistant Estates Surveyor on a 18-Month Fixed-Term Contract, paying £25,000-£30,000 per annum depending on experience.

The organisation's Estates Department manage a property portfolio across the County of East Sussex and includes the City of Brighton & Hove.

The Estate comprises of 24 individual sites with a gross internal floor area of circa 20,000 sqm plus an HQ facility in Lewes.

The recently approved Estates Strategy will, over the next 5 years transform the built estate through a programme of planned improvements across the estate.

Working within the Estates Department, the successful candidate will gain experience across all aspects of Estates Management, from day-to-day repairs and maintenance through to major project management & strategic asset management.

Assisting the Estates Manager & the wider estates team you will not only be heavily involved in the delivery of the Estates Strategy but will also have a key role to play with regard to reactive & planned maintenance, Health & safety and CAD design.

The role will suit a recent graduate who is keen to gain a broad range of experience and complete RICS APC qualification.

You will have/be:

  • Degree in Building/Construction or Estates Management or similar discipline.

  • Desire to pursue RICS professional qualification.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Project Management, Building and Estates Management principles.

  • Post-qualification experience in property services or estates.

  • Excellent IT skills, covering all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Project).

  • High level of CAD & CAFM literacy.

  • Excellent communication skills, being able to confidently liaise with internal colleagues and external contractors and suppliers.
