Job Title - Assistant Risk Manager

Salary - up to £35,000 + car allowance + bonus + package

Cobalt is currently working with a global consultancy that are looking to recruit a permanently employed Assistant Risk Manager who will support the Lead Risk Manager and Senior Risk Manager in implementation of the risk management activities with the focus of supporting the Enabling Works Transfer, HS2 and LU Stations project teams in the day-to-day management of risks in accordance with the relevant process and procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Responsible for the validation the risk data within assigned control accounts, ensuring that all newly identified risks, are of good quality, and are to include (as a minimum) the description, cause and effect of the threat / opportunity, a three-point estimate for any impacts and a rationale of how these values were determined, a risk owner, an exposure finish date determining when the threat or opportunity will no longer be applicable to their respective project

• Responsible for supporting the project team with recording and actively tracking delivery of treatment actions, for both threats and opportunities.

• Directly supports the project team with all required monthly or periodic risk reporting.

• Supports the delivery of the risk plan and liaise with the Risk Function on all project risk matters.

• To ensure that the threats and opportunities within their respective areas are reviewed and updated, with the respective Control Account they are supporting, as a minimum monthly

• Responsible for updating the Xactium risk register to ensure the data is current and relevant

• Reviewing and approving the risk data quality

• Review contractors risk registers and make comments as appropriate

• Supports the Risk Function in the development and production of any required Quantitative Analysis

The Candidate

• You have some experience in project management or project control environment.

• You have some exposure to risk management and risk methodologies, mitigation processes and techniques within an enterprise environment.

• You have some knowledge of risk quantification incl. cost and schedule risk analysis.

• You have some experience in risk management process development and implementation.

• Desirable but not essential: Knowledgeable of risk management software such as @Risk, PRA, riskHive or Safran.

• Knowledge of modelling techniques e.g., cost impact distributions, qualitative verses quantitative.

• You are likely to be degree educated either in risk or similar discipline.

• You should have or be working towards a professional membership of related professional body(s) e.g., APM, IRM.
