Business Rates Business Partner, Full-Time, Permanent, Birmingham, £35,000 - £40,000 Per Annum

Cobalt are working alongside one of the world's leading property consultancies, with a new requirement for a Business Rates Business Partner in their central Birmingham office.

This role will function to manage business rates liabilities via relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Main duties include:

• Rates management delivery service to clients in line with agreed SLA's
• Producing regular and ad hoc reports to clients including budgets and forecasts where required
• Providing internal updates to colleagues and members of the management team
• Validating rate demands for payment
• Proactively pursuing business rates refunds where required
• Ensuring portfolio movement is actioned properly
• Alleviating rate liabilities in line with current legislation
• Administration duties relating to all areas of business rate liabilities
• Ability to apply solid knowledge of legislation, regulations, government guidelines and local authority policies to the benefit of clients
• Possess excellent communication skills as well at the ability to prioritise all incoming workload

The ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive business rates experience from either public or private sector
• Working knowledge of all areas of business rates legislation
• An understanding of the treasury and accounts payable functions
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skill set
• Impeccable analytical and presentation skills
• Solid background in reporting and client delivery
• Proficient with the Microsoft Package including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
