Cobalt are working with a NHS Trust in Greater Manchester to recruit an interim Catering Manager, paying £170-£190 per day LTD rate (inside IR35, via umbrella company) for an initial 6 month contract.
The successful candidate will be able to provide a safe, professional and high quality food service to service users, visitors and staff across the Trust and will work with the Facilities Management Team and other Trust Managers to ensure a service user / customer centred and safety focused service.
The Catering Manager will be responsible for the service of meals to patients, staff and visitors at the Trust's main hospital site by managing a budget for labour and supplies.
The post-holder is responsible for ensuring that all staff are following food hygiene practices across the Trust and working to best standards and following the food safety policy and HACCP regulations.
The role will ensure that catering audits are carried out regularly to monitor the standards set within the department on a day to day basis, ensuring that food for staff, patients, visitors and functions is of the highest possible standard.
You will have/be:
Previous experience as a Catering Manager within a healthcare environment.
The ability to manage all operational aspects of the catering service on a day-to-day basis including the distribution of all foodstuffs produced and provided.
Able to implement and review the management control systems for the service, using appropriate recognised techniques, to ensure that good practices prevail and exercises sufficient monitoring and control to ensure that the plan is adhered to.
A track record in co-ordinating and managing the Trusts Catering audit program by ensuring that all areas are monitored in a timely manner.
A track record in ensuring appropriate recruitment and selection of staff and the compilation of cost effective staff rotas.
Proven significant leadership experience.
An effective communicator at all levels.
