Senior to Associate level Building Surveyor - Client Side
Cobalt Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a Landed Estate in the Suffolk area with over 800 buildings across their portfolio. Working on a retained basis, our client has engaged us to search and select a talented Building Surveyor with experience in Project Management, Contract admin, professional services, PPM and reactive maintenance across the residential, listed, office, industrial and mixed-use sectors.

Overview
This Landed Estate owns and manages over 800 buildings that span Victorian dwellings, listed historic buildings, agriculture, light industrial, mixed use, and office asset classes.
Over the years the Estate has refurbished its properties to a very high standard; it has invested heavily in public realm projects and has worked hard to support many aspects of the community. The Estate takes great pride in its stewardship of the area. The physical fabric of the Estate, the quality of its internal refurbishments and its customer services are pivotal to attracting and retaining both visitors and occupiers. The business is very focused on maintaining its high reputation - particularly among its customers, partners, and stakeholders.
The Estate team are responsible for the delivery of development and refurbishment projects, reactive maintenance & repair works and planned cyclical repair projects. The team also provide support and advice in matters relating to landlord and tenant, building defects and fire insurance reinstatement valuations.
Reporting to the Estate Manager, the successful candidate will provide in-house Building Surveying, Project Management, CDM and Design support to the Facility Management, Residential Asset Management and Commercial Asset Management teams.

Project Management from inception to completion, including design, planning, tender, construction, and handover of schemes valued from £30,000 to £1million
Requirements
Knowledge of the construction of traditional and modern buildings
Working knowledge of current CDM Regulations and H&S Legislation
Experienced in diagnosing common defects in buildings
Experienced in managing building and maintenance projects, contractors, and programmes of work
Knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD
Excellent interpersonal skills and high-level awareness or a natural ability to implement customer service principles and techniques
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines or time frames without compromising the quality of work and maintaining a high level of attention to detail
Located in East Anglia
Desirable
MRICS/MAPM/MCIOB/RIBA professional qualification
Construction, Design or Real Estate related degree
Knowledge of common building services (mechanical and electrical)
Knowledge of Landlord and Tenant legislation, including service charge procedures
Experience of working with listed buildings
