Finance Manager

Cobalt have paired with a boutique real estate investor, with a wide range of assets across the UK, currently seeking a Finance Manager to join their market leading team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a split role across the finance function and wider company including investor reporting, team management and due diligence on new investments.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Review of monthly fund reporting packs and analysis of management accounts for the property portfolio including cash transactions, interest accruals, deferred rents, review and analysis of agent transactions, managing non-recoverable payments, and reviewing tenant lease details against managing agent's data on the accounting system

• Review of quarterly fund reporting packs and analysis of management accounts for one of the key funds

• Preparation of monthly and quarterly management fee invoicing

• Review of distributions calculations quarterly, including review of cash allocated to capital projects, and review of capital spend to project budgets

• Driving annual financial reporting audits and management of auditor relationships

• Driving of annual tax filings and management of tax advisor relationships

• Reviewing VAT returns for the properties and assisting with VAT queries

• Assisting with supporting additional entity structures in the group for regulatory and tax filings

• Investment manager support on an ad hoc basis, including occasional accounting and management reporting review and analysis

• Sitting on the internal Operations & Process Committee and supporting business and process improvement initiatives

• Tenant financial covenant reviews and analysis

• Attendance at fortnightly managing agent conference calls and distribution of minutes

• Other adhoc duties as and when required

Key skills required

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent

• Experience working within property, real estate, private equity or investment management

• Understanding of month end processes, management accounts and financial statements

• Strong knowledge of excel

• Ability to take ownership and accountability of reporting deadlines
