Financial Accountant & Property Analyst

Cobalt are working with one of London's best known property businesses, currently with a mixed use portfolio, including some of London's most iconic buildings, who are seeking a commercially focused Financial Accountant / Property Analyst.

This role focuses on providing high level reporting and analysis to facilitate long term strategic business decisions. This role sits within the financial team but will be working closely with company directors, asset managers and teams across the business.

Responsibilities:

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Enhance the development of individual property profitability reporting and analysis, primarily focusing on non-recoverable costs across the portfolio

  • Investment appraisal for all development work with the asset management and building surveyor teams to enhance reporting on cash flow projections against original budget and final cost

  • Analysis of all aspects of the investment property portfolio e.g. contracted rent roll, lease expiry profiles, break date analysis; impact of rent reviews, rents under breach, vacancy analysis

  • Preparation of the half yearly management and annual statutory accounts

  • Long term financial forecasts

  • Work along side the asset management and building surveyor teams to enhance cash flow projections

  • Undertake pre and post project appraisals of all refurbishments and development

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified

  • Previous real estate or property experience

  • Experience of property and accounting management systems - ability to upload, download, interrogate and manipulate data

  • Working knowledge of all business taxes - in particular VAT, CIS and corporation tax

  • Strong communication skills
