Cobalt is collaborating with a prominent London Managing Agent in their search for a skilled and analytical Client Accountant. This family-owned business is actively seeking to expand its team and oversee a substantial residential portfolio, including mixed-use developments. With ambitious growth strategies underway, this role presents a pivotal opportunity to join the company during a crucial phase of expansion.

Ideally we are looking for a experienced residential or commercial Client Accountant and have experienced working under the guidance of Tech 03 guidelines and statutory accounts.

Duties:

  • Ensure all properties maintain appropriate balances, reporting any issues to PMs & Directors with reasons and recommendations.

  • Prepare balance sheets, journals, accruals, etc., liaising with auditors for timely completion within four months of year-end.

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management reports within given time lines.

  • Invoice all portfolio items (Ground Rent, Service Charges, etc.) to leaseholders within 4 weeks of due date.

  • Monitor account balances and transfer all collected ground rents to Freeholder/Landlord within 1 week of bank clearance.

  • Prepare, review, and rationalize annual budgets, ensuring accuracy and invoicing readiness within 4 weeks of due date.

  • Complete portfolio bank reconciliations within two weeks of period end, with line manager sign-off.

  • Ensure completion of end of day transfers fortnightly.

  • Reconcile balance sheets, close appropriate bank accounts, and archive information within agreed time lines.

  • Fully implement new properties before going live, including leaseholder information, bank account setup, and budget preparation.

  • Attend adhoc meetings with leaseholders or AGMs when required.

  • Coordinate monthly PAYE payments for the portfolio.

Person specification:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Attention for detail

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Experience of working under the guidance of Tech 03 guidelines and statutory accounts.
