Cobalt is exclusively representing a Global Organisation in a search for a Head of Real Estate Fund Accounting, whose funds have some of the most well known Property Investments globally as the business represents net assets in excess of £100 Billion.

This Head of Fund Accounting position will be responsible for the management and continued growth of a large, high performing team that works on a portfolio of global investments. This position works closely with the Head of UK, CFO and other senior leadership across overseas locations.

This role leads an exceptional management team and fund accountants that are responsible for the delivery of high value fund accounting and investor reporting across a range of real asset investments.

Responsibilities

• Management and overall responsibility for the delivery of real estate services across a wide range of funds and investments.

• Effective team management including recruitment of new staff, professional development of team members at all levels and setting targets and goals.

• Ultimately responsible for the overseeing and delivering the budgeting process for the department by driving efficiency and profitability.

• Working with leadership to set and deliver continued growth targets across the UK Real Estate business.

• Analyse and review financial information underlying financial statements including the treatment of business transactions and oversee management accounting at an asset and fund level.

• Oversee preparation of all statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS.

• Implement policies and procedures to maintain and improve relationship and portfolio.

• Effectively lead at an operational and strategic level to ensure deadlines are always met.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Accountant ideally ACA/ACCA (or equivalent)

• Working knowledge of leading and managing large teams of finance professionals from part qualified through to PQE (20+)

• Ability to deliver high level client service within a professional services organisation

• Strong technical skill set/background with Funds, SPVs, UK GAAP and IFRS

• Impeccable organisation and interpersonal skills to manage internal team and external stakeholders effectively

• Knowledge of working with Real Estate Funds or investments directly or indirectly

• Goal orientated in order to facilitate and maintain growth

Ideal individuals will be in a Senior Leadership position within professional services working with Real Estate clients or with a working knowledge in Financial Services leading Fund Accounting teams.
