Are you passionate about preserving history while paving the way for future generations? Do you possess a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for heritage sites and cultural landmarks, as well as keen to protect historical elements of sites, or deal with conservation areas.

We are partnered with a national heritage consultancy with a current team in London, who focus on conserving and celebrating the rich tapestry of our collective past. As a Heritage Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our cultural heritage for generations to come. Our client is very busy and open for a candidate to join from either experienced Senior up to Associate to assist on existing work and one to expand their network and client base further and support them in this growing sector. The focus will be on establishing yourself and growing the base in Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking research and site visits to inform Heritage Assessments and write Heritage Statements

  • Preparing Listed Building Consents

  • Dealing with Conservation Area Appraisals

  • Preparing desk-based assessments

  • Providing optioneering and design advice to client teams

  • Preparing impact assessments, including Environment Statements.

  • Reviewing Method Statements and Site Specific Written Schemes of Investigations prepared by Archaeological Contractors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Building Conservation, Historic Buildings, Archaeology, Architecture, or a related field.

  • Working experience within a heritage consultancy environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience working in the heritage conservation field is preferred but not required.
