Cobalt Recruitment are working with an NHS Trust in Norfolk to recruit an interim Health, Safety & Security Manager for an initial 3-6 month contract, paying £28.00-£32.00 per hour LTD rate (inside IR35, via umbrella company) depending on experience.

The successful candidate will provide concise, timely and impartial advice, guidance and support to managers and staff to ensure the effectiveness of the Trust's arrangements for promoting safe environments and work activities. As the Trust's senior competent person in health and safety, the post holder will act as an expert resource in providing the knowledge and skills to assist in the generation of a positive health and safety culture throughout the Trust, continuously working towards the implementation of external requirements under HSE/Care Quality Commission outcomes.

You will have/be:

  • Qualified with NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.

  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

  • Experience of working health and safety in the NHS.

  • Experience of leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team and working in a team.

  • Expert ability to analyse and interpret relevant legislation to advise and monitor compliance in line with national guidance, legislation, and statutory monitoring bodies such as the HSE/CQC.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines for leading on external assessments and meeting deadlines set for actions and results set both internally and externally e.g., Following HSE Inspections.

  • A good working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, regulations, guidance, and industry best practice.

  • Ability to communicate with staff, patients and service users at all levels.
