Project Client Accountant

Client Accountant, Full-Time, 12 Month FTC, Birmingham City Centre, Competitive Salary

My client is an international real estate firm looking for a Client Accountant to join its team in central Birmingham on a 12 Month FTC. This role will be predominantly project focused.

This position will be based in Birmingham with the option of homeworking.

Main duties will include:

  • Maintaining and ensuring property service charge year end and budget information on the database.

  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to monitor budgets and manage shortfalls

  • Completing reviews of the service charge account with surveyor/facilities manager

  • Producing both monthly and quarterly reporting in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the settlement of VAT to deadlines

  • Attend all client meetings as required

  • Liaising with cashiers to resolve day to day queries

  • Producing ad hoc charges for the recovery of costs as required.

  • Liaising with credit control/supervisor to assist in the recovery of all charges

  • Production of all bank reconciliations for review and ensure any reconciling items are cleared monthly

  • Assisting REM helpdesk in the resolution of ad hoc queries

  • Responsible for the mobilisation of instructions working with the transition team

  • Ensure all KPI's and delivery deadlines are met in a timely manner

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Solid experience in property accounting

  • Adequate knowledge of basic accounting principles such as double entry, accruals and prepayments

  • Experience of working in a busy fast paced finance function

  • Team worker

  • Ability to deal with high volumes of work.

  • Ability to delegate duties, manage and prioritise tight and conflicting deadlines.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail skills to submit reports and reconciliations for review.

  • Impeccable communication skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders

  • Self-motivated to maintain output and able to work from home at times
