Assistant Estate Manager

About the Role
Cobalt Recruitment is partnering with a leading institutional property owner to appoint an Assistant Estate Manager within a major Central London commercial estate.
This is a varied role covering offices, retail, public realm and events rather than a conventional single-building position. Working alongside the Estate Manager, you'll support the day-to-day operation of the wider estate, coordinating service partners, maintaining standards and acting as a key point of contact for occupiers and stakeholders.
The business offers an excellent platform for someone looking to develop within commercial property, with strong internal progression, an experienced management team and the backing of a major internationally recognised real estate brand. The role is predominantly estate-based, with the opportunity to work from home for one day each week.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Estate Manager with the day-to-day operation and presentation of the estate.
Coordinating cleaning, security, landscaping, fabric and maintenance services across public and operational areas.
Building strong relationships with occupiers, retailers, contractors and service partners.
Carrying out regular estate inspections and ensuring actions are followed through.
Supporting H&S compliance, emergency procedures and safe working practices.
Monitoring contractor performance and completed works.
Assisting with service charge administration, quotations, invoices and budget tracking.
Supporting retail, events and commercialisation activity across the estate.
Maintaining operational records, processes and documentation.
Deputising for the Estate Manager when required and taking ownership of issues within your remit.
A background in commercial property or Facilities Management is strongly preferred. This could suit an experienced Facilities Coordinator or Facilities Administrator ready to step up, or an existing Assistant Building or Estate Manager looking for broader exposure.
You'll need a good foundation of property and FM knowledge, alongside strong organisation and communication skills. We're looking for someone proactive, adaptable and calm under pressure who can manage competing priorities, build relationships and follow issues through to resolution. Some experience coordinating contractors or other team members would be beneficial.
Technical expertise is not essential, with specialist support available across the estate. IOSH would be advantageous but is not required.
For someone looking to build on an existing commercial property foundation, this offers excellent exposure to a complex, high-profile estate and a genuine opportunity to develop within a leading international property business.
