For someone looking to progress their career in residential or Build to Rent property management, the Assistant General Manager position offers broad operational responsibility.

The organisation

Our client is an established property management business responsible for managing large residential developments. Joining an organisation of this scale offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced property professionals while gaining exposure to resident experience, building operations, compliance, commercial performance and stakeholder management.

The role offers:

· Salary of up to £40,000 DOE plus a discretionary bonus.

· Clear opportunity to develop towards a General Manager position.

· Exposure to the operational and commercial management of a large residential development.

· The opportunity to work closely with senior management and contribute to wider projects.

· A role where performance is supported by clear objectives and measurable KPIs.

The role and responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will support the day-to-day operation of the development while taking direct responsibility for key areas of performance and resident experience.

Responsibilities will include:

· Leading and supporting the front-of-house Resident Services Associates, including direct line management responsibilities.

· Supporting recruitment, onboarding and the implementation of operational processes.

· Contributing to the lease-up strategy, occupancy performance and resident retention.

· Overseeing resident communications and ensuring service requests and complaints are handled within agreed timescales.

· Reviewing resident feedback and identifying practical improvements to the resident experience.

· Supporting building compliance, health and safety processes, site inspections and contractor management.

· Overseeing vacant apartment turnarounds and supporting planned maintenance activity.

· Monitoring expenditure and contributing to financial reporting, management accounts and performance KPIs.

· Identifying opportunities to generate additional revenue.

· Building effective relationships with residents, suppliers and other stakeholders.

The skills needed

We are looking for an Assistant General Manager with a working knowledge of customer-focused residential property management or the Build to Rent sector.

You should also bring:

· Working knowledge of building and property management, including health and safety requirements.

· Experience leading or supporting colleagues within an operational environment.

· Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and external partners.

· A clear focus on customer service and improving resident experience.

· Confidence using property management software and other IT systems.

· The ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion.

· Experience using Yardi or a similar CRM, managing budgets or working within large-scale residential developments would be advantageous.

· IRPM or ARLA qualifications and knowledge of ESG initiatives would also be beneficial rather than essential.

This Assistant General Manager opportunity would suit someone ready to broaden their operational experience and take the next step towards managing a residential development.

Interviews are ongoing, so apply now to be considered.
