About the Role

Centralised Operations Manager - Maternity Cover

London - Canary Wharf | £70,000-£75,000 | 16-month FTC | Hybrid working

Cobalt is supporting a major London-based organisation in the appointment of a Centralised Operations Manager for a 16-month maternity cover contract.

This is an opportunity for someone with a strong background in CAFM, systems governance and FM transformation to take ownership of a broad centralised operations remit. Combining systems improvement with operational oversight, you'll help improve how the organisation's FM Helpdesk, CAFM platforms and building management processes work together.

The remit is approximately 30% CAFM, 40% BAU operations and 30% team management, providing the Centralised Operations Manager with the opportunity to maintain an effective operation while delivering meaningful improvements.

The organisation

Our client is a major organisation responsible for a complex property environment in London, with an emphasis on service quality, collaboration, sustainability and continuous improvement.

The role offers a salary of £70,000-£75,000, alongside a wider benefits package including pension and insurance arrangements, health benefits etc

You'll work four days in the London office and one day from home, with working hours of 8.30am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday. The organisation also supports learning and development, inclusion and flexible working arrangements where appropriate.

The role and responsibilities

The Centralised Operations Manager will provide direction across three connected areas: FM Helpdesk Management, CAFM Systems Governance & Optimisation, and the centralisation of relevant building management processes.

This isn't solely a traditional building operations role. You'll understand FM service delivery while bringing particular strength in CAFM, governance, process improvement and transformation.

Key responsibilities include:

* Taking strategic ownership of CAFM systems, including governance, data integrity, security, compliance, reporting and future development, while identifying opportunities to improve functionality and automation.

* Providing leadership to the FM Helpdesk Manager and CAFM Systems Administrator, alongside strategic oversight of the FM Helpdesk and escalation of significant operational matters.

* Reviewing and improving centralised processes supporting PPM, reactive maintenance and engineering resource deployment, working with Health & Safety, engineering and operational stakeholders.

* Developing service standards and governance frameworks while supporting audits, ISO requirements, regulatory compliance and operational resilience.

* Using KPIs, management information and stakeholder feedback to improve service delivery, alongside managing budgets, forecasting and financial governance across the relevant functions.

The organisation wants a Centralised Operations Manager who can keep the existing operation performing while working across multiple teams to identify and implement improvements.

The skills needed and requirements

The priority is someone with strong CAFM and transformation expertise combined with a good understanding of FM operations. You don't need to have personally managed the day-to-day delivery of PPM and reactive maintenance, provided you understand how these services operate.

We're looking for:

* Strong working knowledge of CAFM systems, including governance, optimisation or strategic development, alongside experience delivering systems or process improvements.

* Experience leading relevant operational, CAFM, helpdesk, engineering systems or FM transformation teams.

* Strong working knowledge of FM operations, including PPM, reactive maintenance and compliance requirements.

* Experience supporting audits, regulatory requirements or quality management systems, with an understanding of data governance and information security.

* The ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups and use operational data, KPIs and reporting to inform decisions and improve services.

A NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous rather than essential. Property-sector experience is also desirable but isn't a prerequisite.

Knowledge of Power BI, Concept Evolution, SFG20, Yardi or comparable CAFM and reporting platforms would be beneficial.

This Centralised Operations Manager opportunity could suit someone already working across CAFM and FM transformation who is looking to broaden their remit into strategic operational leadership.

Interviews are progressing, so early applications are encouraged. Apply now to be considered.
