About the Role

Cobalt are seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join a leading Building Consultancy team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and diverse group of professionals, advising global clients across the full property life cycle. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality consultancy services, managing projects from inception to completion, and developing lasting client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a variety of building consultancy instructions, including project management, contract administration, dilapidations, landlord & tenant advice, pre-acquisition surveys, and technical due diligence.
  • Lead on business generation and contribute to the department's continued success.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of condition, and defects analysis reports.
  • Advise clients on health & safety, CDM regulations, and reinstatement cost assessments.
  • Manage client relationships and attend industry events to promote services.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and cross-sell services within the wider business.

What We're Looking For:

  • RICS qualified Building Surveyor with experience in commercial property.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, JCT contracts, and construction processes.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and NBS Specification Writing (preferred but not essential).
  • Ability to generate new business, manage fee income, and develop client networks.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Proactive and commercially minded with the ability to work autonomously.
