Commercial Director

We are working with an established national property and facilities services organisation looking to appoint a Commercial Director.

Reporting to the COO, this is a senior Group-level position responsible for supporting the organisation's commercial strategy, with particular focus on major bids, pricing, complex contracts, commercial performance and risk.

The role will work closely with Business Development, Operations, Finance, Legal and Procurement and will play an important part in supporting continued growth across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the development of commercial strategy across the Group.
• Partner with Business Development on major bids, tenders, pricing and commercial strategy.
• Review and challenge commercial and financial assumptions within new opportunities.
• Provide commercial leadership across complex and long-term service contracts, including PFI/PPP arrangements.
• Support contract negotiations, variations, renewals and commercial discussions.
• Review existing contract performance and identify opportunities to improve margin, profitability and commercial outcomes.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks.
• Work closely with operational teams to address underperforming contracts and improve performance.
• Develop commercial reporting and provide clear insight to senior leadership.
• Work collaboratively across Operations, Finance, Legal and Procurement.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for an experienced commercial professional who can demonstrate:

• Senior commercial experience within Facilities Management, Property Services, Property Management, Housing or outsourced services.
• Strong exposure to major bids and tenders, including pricing and commercial strategy.
• Experience managing complex service contracts and commercial negotiations.
• PFI/PPP experience would be particularly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of contract profitability, pricing, margin and commercial risk.
• Ability to operate effectively across operational and corporate functions.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Credibility working with Executive and senior leadership teams.
