About the Role
An opportunity for an ambitious ecologist to join a growing team and deliver ecological expertise across regeneration, property, transport, and public sector projects. You'll contribute to surveys, assessments, and reporting, while working closely with clients and colleagues across regional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake ecological surveys, desk studies, and assessments to a high standard
- Prepare and review technical reports including PEAs, EcIAs, BNG assessments, and BREEAM ecology reports
- Provide clear, pragmatic ecological advice to clients and project teams
- Contribute to Environmental Statement (ES) chapters and the wider EIA process
- Support fee proposals and commercial project delivery
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK ecological legislation and planning policy
What You'll Bring
- Degree in ecology or a related discipline
- 1+ years' experience in ecological consultancy (or similar)
- Strong report writing and technical review skills
- Knowledge of UK planning, conservation legislation, and protected species licensing
- Ideally hold at least one survey/handling licence for a protected species
- Experience of both linear infrastructure and property development projects desirable
- Confident communicator with the ability to work independently
- Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel for site work)
