Depot Manager - Highways Maintenance
Location: M25 Network - South East
Salary: £50,000-£60,000 + Benefits + Vehicle
Client
Our client, a leading infrastructure services business, is seeking an experienced Depot Manager to lead operations at one of their flagship depots on the M25 network. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team responsible for maintaining one of the UK's most critical motorway routes.
About the Role
As Depot Manager, you'll take ownership of day-to-day depot operations including planned and reactive highways maintenance, winter services, incident response, and resource coordination. You'll lead a diverse team of operatives, supervisors, and engineers-ensuring compliance, safety, and efficiency are front and centre at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations and workforce planning across maintenance and incident response teams
- Drive performance against KPIs, ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Manage depot assets, fleet, materials, and winter maintenance readiness
- Implement and monitor RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth operational delivery
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, CSCS standards, and operational protocols
- Support and develop team members, promoting a strong health & safety culture
About You:
- Proven experience in a similar Depot Manager or Operations Manager role within highways, infrastructure, or utilities
- Strong leadership and staff management capabilities
- Excellent knowledge of highways maintenance, incident response, and winter services
- Familiar with RAMS, CDM regulations, and highway maintenance KPIs
- CSCS card and relevant qualifications (e.g. IOSH/SMSTS) preferred
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with excellent organisational skills
