Cynthia Kung
Cynthia Kung
Principal Consultant - Residential Development

About the Role

A well-capitalised, multi-strategy investment platform is seeking to appoint a senior Development Director / Head of Land & Planning to build and lead a healthcare-focused development platform.

With a strong track record across real estate, private equity, and credit, the business is actively deploying capital into defensive, needs-based sectors, with a particular focus on elderly care.

This is a rare opportunity to take a strategic, front-end role in shaping a new platform - moving from opportunistic deal flow to a proactive, land-led development model.

The Role

· Lead the sourcing and acquisition of land opportunities across the UK

· Drive planning strategy and oversee the delivery of consents

· Establish a scalable pipeline of elderly care / healthcare schemes

· Shape development strategy, including design efficiency and scheme viability

· Work closely with the investment team to align development with capital deployment

· Build relationships with operators, consultants, and delivery partners

· Support the evolution from JV / partner-led delivery to a more in-house model

The Opportunity

· Build a platform from the ground up within an established investment business

· Direct access to capital and decision-makers

· High level of autonomy and strategic influence

· Clear pathway to building and leading a team

Candidate Profile

· Strong background in land acquisition and planning

· Experience within healthcare / elderly care development required

· Proven track record of sourcing and progressing sites through planning

· Strong understanding of viability, delivery, and market dynamics

· Well-connected across land, planning, and construction networks

· Commercially astute, with the ability to bridge development and investment thinking

· Credible, strategic operator with the gravitas to engage senior stakeholders

Salary & Package

· Meaningful equity upside

· Flexible / hybrid working environment

This is an opportunity to play a defining role in building a new development platform within a highly active and well-funded investment environment.
