Estimator - Commercial fit out

This established design and build contractor specialises in the delivery of commercial and industrial fit-out and refurbishment projects across London and the South East. The company works closely with end users, asset managers and professional teams to deliver Cat A and Cat B office and industrial schemes up to £4m in value.

The Role

This is a key Estimator position with genuine influence from the outset. You'll take ownership of the full tendering process, producing competitive and compliant submissions for traditional and design & build fit-out projects.

Alongside estimating, you'll retain commercial involvement post-award, allowing you to see your tenders through into delivery and final account - providing continuity and valuable commercial insight.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and interpreting tender documentation to produce detailed cost plans and estimates.
• Preparing fully compliant tender submissions for commercial fit-out projects.
• Issuing and managing sub-contract tender packages and evaluating returns.
• Attending and hosting tender site visits with clients and supply chain partners.
• Leading post-tender clarifications and value engineering discussions.
• Supporting procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers following contract award.
• Maintaining cost input through delivery, including variations and final accounts.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in estimating within a main contracting environment.
• Working knowledge of traditional and design & build JCT contracts.
• Experience pricing commercial fit-out or refurbishment projects (office, industrial or education).
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to assess risk and opportunity at tender stage.
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar (Chartered status not essential).
• Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
