About the Role

Cobalt is working with a small, high-impact consultancy looking for a Consultant with strong data analysis skills to support research, regeneration, and strategy projects for public sector clients across the UK.

The role involves producing data-led analysis, mapping, and reports to inform practical recommendations, working as part of a close-knit team on projects ranging from economic strategies and commercial market reviews to regeneration and masterplanning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantitative analysis to support research and strategy projects, using demographic, economic, housing, and geographic data
  • Create clear, accurate charts and maps, and articulate their implications in written and verbal formats
  • Translate data and evidence into practical strategies and recommendations for clients
  • Present findings to clients and internal teams, both online and in-person
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities such as interviews and workshops
  • Take ownership of specific tasks or outputs within larger projects to support delivery and project management
  • Collaborate internally with team members and externally with project partners

Essential Requirements

  • Between 6 and 18 months of experience in data, development or economics
  • Familiarity with UK data sources such as ONS, Realyse, CoStar, and London Datastore
  • Strong interest in cities, regeneration, and the built environment
  • Ability to extract insights from data and communicate them to non-technical audiences
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and methodical approach

Ideally you will have...

  • Experience developing socioeconomic baselines or experience conducting stakeholder engagement
  • Interest in development consultancy and or experience.
  • Experience using spatial analysis tools, preferably QGIS
