Recruitment Consultant, Residential Development & Town Planning

About the Role

Cobalt is working with a growing property consultancy looking to appoint a Graduate Surveyor or Development Surveyor to its Development Consultancy team.

This is an opportunity to build experience across both Development Consultancy and Valuation Advisory, working on town centre and estate regeneration projects predominantly for public sector clients. You will gain exposure to development consultancy, valuation, compulsory purchase, land assembly and public sector procurement rather than being limited to one area of surveying.

The Organisation

The consultancy has a collaborative culture, with junior surveyors working alongside experienced colleagues across development and planning.

For a someone looking to build their career, the role offers:

* A hybrid working arrangement, with three days per week in the office.

* APC support for those working towards chartership.

* Exposure to a range of regeneration and development projects.

* The opportunity to work across both Development Consultancy and Valuation Advisory.

* Collaboration with colleagues across planning and development.

The Role and Responsibilities

You will support the delivery of advice to clients across regeneration and development projects. Your responsibilities will include:

* Undertaking development consultancy, valuation, compulsory purchase and public sector procurement work.

* Producing market research across traditional property sectors and emerging industrial and employment uses.

* Supporting viability modelling, investment appraisals and residual land valuations using Argus Developer and bespoke models.

* Supporting RICS Red Book valuation reports, including property inspections, measurement and valuation analysis.

* Assisting with compulsory purchase and land assembly advice, including compensation assessments.

* Supporting tender and bid submissions alongside colleagues and partner organisations.

* Working with planning and development colleagues on development sites.

* Researching public sector delivery models and partnership options.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your client-facing experience, supporting the team in providing advice on development viability and the deliverability of development opportunities.

The Skills Needed

The opportunity could suit someone at the beginning of their property career or someone who has already started developing their professional surveying experience. We are looking for:

* Relevant academic knowledge of property, real estate, surveying or a related discipline.

* An interest in development consultancy, valuation and regeneration.

* A working knowledge of property valuation and development appraisal principles appropriate to your career level.

* Good numerical, research and written communication skills.

* An interest in working towards, or continuing towards, RICS qualification where applicable.

Previous work experience within property or surveying would be useful, but candidates at graduate level with relevant work experience placements will also be considered. Knowledge of Argus Developer would be beneficial rather than essential.

This is a chance to join a collaborative consultancy where you can develop experience across Development Consultancy and Valuation Advisory while receiving APC support and exposure to public sector regeneration work.

Applications are being considered now, so apply now to be considered for upcoming interviews.

Due to the volume of applications received, if you don't hear back from us, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.

If you require any adjustments or additional support during the recruitment process for any reason whatsoever, please let your Cobalt consultant know.
