Position Overview
We are looking for a Maintenance & Technical Engineer to join our team and take responsibility for the technical upkeep, preventive maintenance, and repair operations across a diverse portfolio of hotels and commercial properties. This role requires a proactive, hands-on professional with deep technical knowledge of building systems and a strong commitment to safety, service quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
- Diagnose and address reactive maintenance issues across sites with speed and professionalism.

Vendor & Project Coordination
- Liaise with and oversee third-party contractors for specialized repair work and service contracts.
- Support renovation, refurbishment, and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants and commercial operations.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with health, safety, and building regulations.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks within property infrastructure.
Planning & Improvement
- Assist in the budgeting and planning of maintenance operations.
- Champion energy efficiency initiatives and support sustainability objectives across the property portfolio.
Emergency Support
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency repairs and urgent technical issues.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- 7-10 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, ideally across both residential and commercial properties.
- Demonstrated expertise in building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, BMS, fire protection, and access control.
- Solid understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Skills & Attributes
- Excellent problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities, especially when dealing with tenants, contractors, and colleagues.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Familiar with sustainable maintenance practices and regulatory compliance.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar are advantageous.
Work Environment
- Field-based role with regular travel to multiple property locations.
- Involves working in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor spaces.
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required as appropriate
