About the Role

Job Title: Property Accountant - 12 Month FTC (Immediate Start or Short Notice)
Location: London

Cobalt are working with a hugely established and dynamic organisation in the heart of London's thriving commercial property market. This is a fantastic chance to join a respected leader in property management and investment and make a real impact in the world of property accounting.
As a Property Accountant, you'll be part of a fast-paced and collaborative team, responsible for managing key financial processes in one of the UK's most iconic property portfolios. You'll be involved in service charge management, helping to drive efficiency and ensure compliance across a variety of prestigious commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage property accounting for a diverse portfolio of real estate assets

  • Prepare service charge budgets, reconciliations, and year-end statements

  • Monitor and report on property financial performance and variances

  • Liaise with property managers and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable process for the property portfolio

  • Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and forecasting

  • Ensure compliance with relevant property and accounting regulations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in property accounting, ideally within real estate

  • Strong background in service charge accounting and reconciliations

  • Proficiency in property management accounting systems (Qube system experience is desirable but not essential)

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualification (desirable, but not essential)

Junior candidates with relevant experience in service charge accounting who are eager to learn will also be considered.
