About the Role
Cobalt is working with a leading housing contractor on a major residential programme in South London. This important scheme is delivering upgrades and essential works to occupied homes, with a strong focus on community engagement and resident care. As part of this delivery phase, we are seeking an experienced Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) to join the project team on a freelance basis.
The Role
This is a resident-facing role focused on ensuring clear communication and support for tenants during the delivery of housing works. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will act as the main point of contact for residents, keeping them fully informed, addressing concerns, and helping to maintain positive relationships between the contractor and the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the primary liaison between residents, contractors, and project teams
- Managing communication with tenants before and during works
- Handling queries, resolving complaints, and maintaining resident satisfaction
- Supporting vulnerable residents to minimise disruption during works
- Coordinating resident access for site teams and ensuring appointments run smoothly
- Maintaining accurate records of interactions, issues, and resolutions
Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience as a Resident Liaison Officer (RLO)
- Background in social housing (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism
- Well-organised, proactive, and able to work independently
- Based in or near South London, with good local knowledge
